Why Read This? The one-sentence sell. What do you get for showing up to this book, even when it's hard?

A sharp murder mystery wrapped in urban fantasy — Savannah Levine finally gets her own story and proves she's the most entertaining narrator in the Otherworld, even when her magic barely shows up.

Ireland 1500-1900 Ireland 1500-1900 is designed to build on the skills, knowledge and understanding that were developed in the Ireland 1169-1500 pupil book. At a Glance

Waking the Witch reads more like a small-town murder mystery than typical urban fantasy, and that's actually its strength. Savannah is impulsive, overconfident, and hilarious as she investigates ritual-style killings while trying to prove herself outside her guardians' shadow. The romance with Adam is pure slow burn — barely a simmer here, all unresolved tension. Be warned: this is the only Otherworld book that ends on a genuine cliffhanger, so have Spell Bound ready. Best for readers who love a snarky PI protagonist more than they need magic on every page.
