Values
A few things I care about.
I built MoodReads to solve my own TBR paralysis and it's important for me to build it in a way that feels right.
Your new TBR sorting tool
MoodReads helps you find books you already own (or want to own). The books you added to Goodreads in 2019 or the ones on the bottom of your bedroom bookshelf.
I don't generate summaries, write reviews (though in the future, YOU may :)), or create any other version of someone else's work. I'm building this so we can be more informed about our own TBRs so we can choose what we want to read easier.
Authors create the magic
I'm a reader. I've bought hundreds of books because an author wrote something that made me ugly cry at 2am or gave me a book hangover for a week. I read TOG for the first time five years ago and I'm STILL not over Aelin. Authors do the hard work we all love and admire. MoodReads helps you find their books faster so you read them.
Your recommendations aren't for sale
MoodReads doesn't run ads. No placement ads, no sponsored results. When you ask BookMatch for enemies-to-lovers with 4-pepper spice, that's what comes back—not whatever someone paid to be there.
If I ever add a way for authors to promote their books, it will live in its own clearly labeled section. You'll always know when something is promoted. It will never touch your recommendations.
Getting the details right
Spice levels and content warnings need to be accurate—getting those wrong could hurt someone. Every book is researched and reviewed across 40+ fields before it goes live. If something's off, there's a report button. Your feedback makes it better for everyone.
We can talk about it
If you have questions about anything, concerns about how something works, or feedback on the product, email me at jenny@moodreads.app. I read everything and I'll respond personally.
If you're an author with concerns, please reach out. I want this to work for everyone who loves romantasy.
