Why Read This? The one-sentence sell. What do you get for showing up to this book, even when it's hard?

A dying matchmaker passes her Brooklyn brownstone and her unfinished love projects to a heartbroken stranger. Warm, magical, and full of hope.

Synopsis

Marnie MacGraw wants an ordinary life - a husband, kids, and a minivan parked in front of a suburban house. Then she meets Blix Holliday, her fiance's irascible matchmaking great-aunt who is dying, and everything changes - just as Blix told her it would. When her marriage ends after two miserable weeks, Marnie discovers she has inherited Blix's Brooklyn brownstone and all of Blix's unfinished projects: the heartbroken, oddball friends and neighbors running from happiness.

The magic here is quiet and stubborn - the kind that works on you slowly until you find yourself believing in fate again. Perfect for when you need a book that feels like a warm hug and leaves you genuinely hopeful about people.
