Why Read This? The one-sentence sell. What do you get for showing up to this book, even when it's hard?

A jilted princess, a lying spy, and a mystery that could topple a monarchy — this one moves fast and the banter crackles.

Synopsis

Princess Theodora Isabella Victoria of Drieden has just been abandoned at the altar — and by orders of the monarchy, banished for four months to keep up appearances. When she finally sneaks out of the palace and meets a handsome Scot named Nick in a local bar, it seems like the perfect escape. Until he reveals that he is the brother of her missing fiancé, a British spy, and he is not above blackmail. As Thea reluctantly joins forces with Nick to uncover what really happened the day her fiancé disappeared, they stumble into a conspiracy that could bring down a centuries-old royal house — and a romance neither of them planned for.

At a Glance

Princess Thea got left at the altar and exiled from her own kingdom — now she is sneaking out of the palace and into a bar where she meets the most inconveniently charming man. He is a spy, the brother of her missing fiancé, and absolutely not to be trusted. The mystery is twisty, the banter is sharp, and the romance sneaks up on you while you are too busy turning pages to notice. Perfect for anyone who wishes The Princess Diaries had a little more espionage.
