Why Read This? The one-sentence sell. What do you get for showing up to this book, even when it's hard?

A warm, emotionally honest story about letting go of old wounds and choosing new beginnings

Synopsis

At thirty-five, Rebecca Williamson is a flight attendant surrounded by friends living their own happy endings. But despite her best efforts, the man she once loved has slipped through her fingers and married her best friend. When a frantic phone call from her mother in Alabama pulls her back to the tiny town she worked so hard to leave behind, Rebecca finds herself face-to-face with Deputy Alex Chen -- and with everything she has spent years trying to forget. Family chaos, old wounds, and a man who sees her more clearly than she sees herself. To find her way forward, Rebecca will have to sort through more than her mother's hoarded rooms.

At a Glance

Rebecca Williamson has spent years at thirty-five perfecting the art of running away - from her Alabama roots, from her feelings for a man who married her best friend, from anything that might ask her to stay. When a family crisis yanks her back to a hometown she barely recognizes, she finds more waiting for her than hoarded rooms and old regrets. Warm, emotionally honest, and quietly romantic, Baggage Check is a story about the particular bravery it takes to stand still - and the person who makes it worth it.
