Why Read This? The one-sentence sell. What do you get for showing up to this book, even when it's hard?

She took the job to find her missing brother. He's the mayor hiding the island's secrets. Their chemistry is the least dangerous thing between them.

Synopsis

His desire intensifies with her refusal. Mayor Alistair Wolfe's task was hire a new assistant, preferably one who'd fit the role and avoid scandals, as demanded by the criminals backing his career. He wasn't meant to coerce his one-night stand into the job, especially since she's a blue-haired, tattooed thief with an attitude. Cora Astor wasn't seeking a relationship or even a job, but gaining access to the mayor of the island where her brother vanished seemed wise. She didn't anticipate her new boss to be the British stranger she'd hooked up with the night before, or for him to be so open about his desires. Now, despite her disdain for the politician, their lives are intertwined, making escape unlikely. Not that he'd let her go easily.
