Why Read This? The one-sentence sell. What do you get for showing up to this book, even when it's hard?

You'll experience a gripping tale of sacrifice and growth as a heroine navigates love and loyalty in a world on the edge of war.

Synopsis

6 hours and 45 minutes. Rowan thought she had escaped her life as a prisoner. But even in Lochlann, she is chained by the memories of everything she left behind in Socair. Of everyone she left behind. With her people clamoring for war, the responsibility falls on Rowan to enter into a marriage alliance to keep her kingdom safe. That should be easy, considering she’s already received proposals from half the clans in Socair. But even with plenty of options, she’s left with no good choices. Will she play it safe? Or will she risk everything for the kind of love she never wanted to begin with? The kind of love that could break her.

At a Glance

Third book in the Lochlann Feuds series—Rowan returns home after imprisonment in Socair and must choose a marriage alliance to prevent war. The political intrigue is the real backbone here, with Rowan navigating proposals from rival clans while processing her own trauma. The romance with Evander is classic enemies-to-lovers with sharp banter and earned vulnerability. PG-13 spice level (the authors describe it as more than Hallmark, less than SJM). Ends on a cliffhanger—book 4 (Obsidian Throne) wraps the series. Best read after the first two books.
