Why Read This? The one-sentence sell. What do you get for showing up to this book, even when it's hard?

The romance is earned through genuine suffering and sacrifice. Collins builds a world where the most dangerous thing is remembering what you lost - and the bravest thing is choosing to remember anyway.

Synopsis

In a world where the most powerful magic is the ability to erase memories by binding them into books, young Emmett Farmer is sent to apprentice with a bookbinder after a mysterious illness. But when he encounters a book with his own name on it, he begins to unravel a love story he was never supposed to remember - one that crosses class lines and defies everything his society demands.

At a Glance

The Binding is the kind of book that makes you forget you're reading. Collins builds this quiet, unsettling world where memories are currency and forgetting is a mercy - until it isn't. The M/M romance between Emmett and Lucian hits differently because you feel what they lost before you understand what they had. Heavy content warnings, but the emotional payoff is immense.
