Why Read This? The one-sentence sell. What do you get for showing up to this book, even when it's hard?

You'll believe in magic again and experience a timeless love story that lingers like starlight.

Synopsis

Alternate cover edition can be found here Young Tristran Thorn will do anything to win the cold heart of beautiful Victoria—even fetch her the star they watch fall from the night sky. But to do so, he must enter the unexplored lands on the other side of the ancient wall that gives their tiny village its name. Beyond that old stone wall, Tristran learns, lies Faerie—where nothing not even a fallen star, is what he imagined.

At a Glance

Gaiman writes Faerie the way fairy tales were always meant to feel: beautiful, strange, and not entirely safe. Tristran starts out as a lovesick fool chasing a cold girl's approval, but the quest transforms him in the way good quests do—gradually, and then all at once. A slim book that reads like a dream you almost remember, with a romance that sneaks up on you properly and a world that feels genuinely ancient.

A fairy tale romance that arrives suddenly and sincerely—more enchantment than seduction. Quiet power wrapped in wry, old-world storytelling.
