Why Read This? The one-sentence sell. What do you get for showing up to this book, even when it's hard?

You'll get a satisfying enemies-to-lovers arc with intense emotional and romantic payoff.

Synopsis

When the curses cast by Mira come true, everything around her crumbles. A promise made on a deathbed must be fulfilled, and Mira embarks on a journey she cannot complete on her own. Venturing into a forbidden world that lies beyond the boundaries known to humans, Mira meets the Warden, who makes a pact with her life in exchange for the fulfillment of the promise. But the Warden is not what he seems; the journey, started under an ill-fated star, will lead Mira toward the heart of the realms, toward the existence of creatures from the Darkness, and toward her own fears. Nothing is simple in a world where humans are ephemeral, and Mira will discover that the price she must pay for the pact is far greater than she ever imagined...
