When King Émeric struck down the last Dragon King of the corrupt Shadow Court, the Realm of Ilion spiraled towards an uncertain future. Two centuries have passed since the war and Adeline, a royal guard in the capital city of Caldera, has clawed her way to an elite position as a Keeper despite her status as a Halfling Fae. She possesses the unusual ability to find and eliminate the Shades, the shadow demons spawned by the Curse that still strangles Ilion. This ability, however, stems from the deadly magic that runs in her family, and she must be wary of drawing unwanted attention to it.
